I am a senior at UC Davis studying Cinema & Digital Media and Communications. I aim to breathe new life into old frameworks of comedy, fantasy, adventure, and action to tell novel, but timeless stories that encapsulate the human condition ― and of course, to entertain.
My taste for the theatrical developed at age 5, when one community theater performance snowballed into 20. In Summer 2012, at age 13, I attended a week-long filmmaking bootcamp in Los Angeles. With Sterling Studios, I wrote, shotlisted, and acted in my first short film, "Hide & Seek," on a budget of $10,000. For the week's work I was awarded Sterling Film Festival's "Best Actor" honor by actress and comedian Luenell. Enchanted more by this behind-the-scenes experience than anything, my time in high school was marked by backstage work in theater and many overwrought class video projects. However, filmmaking remained a hobby as I applied to college, and I attended UC Davis for unrelated reasons. But the itch returned, and scratching it was a full-time job; so I changed my major and stayed in Davis, smitten with its very niche film community and unique storytelling potential of the pastoral setting.
Currently, I write, produce, and direct the most moving stories I can find, and shoot commercial projects on the side to hone my technical skills. Beyond film, I enjoy leatherwork, playing piano, and backpacking in the Sierras.
